Rincon Beach

Moseyed down the road (101) about 100 miles and decided to spend a night along
the Old Rincon Highway north of Ventura. This locale was made famous in a Beach Boys song (Surfin' Safari) in my youth, way too long ago (1962). We are about 50 feet from the ocean, 5 feet from the highway and 75 feet from the Amtrak tracks. This is a popular spot for coastal RVers where dry-camping can be had for $25 per night. When the sun isn’t hiding behind a cloud, it’s quite nice.
Along the
way we stopped at Carpenteria Beach State Park to offload 5 days worth of black and grey dump tanks. ($10 to use their dump station.) Also uploaded about 50 gallons of water. The park was crawling with kids zipping about on bikes and scooters. Not my kinda place anymore, but if/when grandson Jonas is ready to hit the road with the geezers, we’ll do it!
I’d like to report that Janice is feeling splendid, but she really isn’t. Early in the day she’s pretty creaky and a minor mishap in the RV (I wasn’t involved in this one!) seems to have re-activated some of her shoulder pain. Still, she is diligent in her physical therapy and we are looking forward to warmer weather to loosen her up!
